Book #15 - Thomas Cromwell

Book #15 - Thomas Cromwell

Thomas Cromwell: The Untold Story of Henry Viii's Most Faithful Servant

This was an interesting peek inside the court of Henry VIII and how small things can cause great change.  The book itself is well written and compelling.  Made even more so by the shenanigans going on in the court.  Had Catherine of Aragon produced a male heir (and, as it turns out, that was irrelevant), Henry would never have divorced her and the Catholic church would still be the dominant religious force in England.  Cromwell was a mastermind in getting things done and actually a significant reformer.  Without him the British throne would not hold the power it does today. Cromwell was an unremarkable personality but accomplished so much due to his intelligent and tireless approach to his duties.  Definitely worth the read.  4.5 stars
