This is my first read of 2015. It is an enjoyable read if you like stories of determination, underdogs and the Olympics. It made me think that people were tougher then than we are now. I was also struck by how many people attended live events before there was the mass media we have today.
Book #2. If you have any interest in religion this is a very compelling read. Spinoza dealt with issues of the effect of secular religion on citizens and nation states, but it is applicable today to anyone who seeks a simpler, more direct relationship with God. The author is a gifted writer and explains complex concepts in a concise and easily understood way.
